Did I start my period or not?

Ok so I'm 14 and have been having period symptoms and stuff for like 2 years, and especially in the past year. I've had discharge (clear/white) for almost 2 years and started developing about 3 and a half years ago. Yesterday I woke up and felt wetness (discharge as usual) but it was like brownish/darkish reddish. I thought I had started my period, but idk because I haven't had that since then, I had a little today but it was just the regular clear discharge. Help????
